Verity

Verity

Verity is a beautiful black German Shepherd Dog that the veterinarian believes is young (in the nine to eighteen month range). She likes to play with other dogs and would not mind sharing her home with a friendly companion but prefers the company of her special human. Verity has started learning basic commands and has a lot of potential for obedience in the future. Her new home needs to have someone motivated and excited about training. Like most GSDs, she needs a job to be happy. Verity’s former life is uncertain, but the way she was abandoned and some of the things that came out during her vet exam leads us to believe that she suffered neglect and some amount of abuse. She dealt with this with grace and is truly an exemplary dog despite her upbringing. She does, however, show signs of having separation anxiety. Her current foster mom is working with her to overcome her fears of being abandoned, but her new home would ideally contain an adult that either works from home or is in the residence most of the time.
